I’m breaking hoarder-protocol!!! lol!
Being a photographer and a blogger, I’ve accumulated a ton of gear over the years.. most of which is collecting absurd amounts of dust. In an attempt to declutter and not be so wasteful, I’m finally letting some stuff go!! I’ve included plenty of photos that I photographed with the camera or lens in question! If you have any questions at all please leave me a comment below or feel free to email me at email@example.com! I hope who ever ends up with these items love them as much as I did *tear*
If you’re interested in purchasing something please include the item name in the subject line of your email. If you’re in the Los Angeles area I’m happy to meet for a local pickup. For mailing.. larger/heavier items (pretty much everything except the 50mm lens) will have a shipping fee of $15, I’ll get the package insured as well.
Sony NEX-6 + 16-50 power zoom lens // $650 — SOLD!
This baby is the beauty blogger camera to have! I first began lusting after this camera when I watched Desi Perkins’ video on how she takes her makeup photos. She’s probably my favorite glam girl to follow on Instagram, her photos and aesthetic are always flawless! After I found out that Amrezy and DressYourFace also were using this baby I just had to have it and I bit the bullet. It’s great for makeup photos, food, travel, literally anything and it’ll look fabulous. It’s seriously an SLR compacted into a point & shoot, incredible quality and you can use interchangeable lenses. The best features to me were the built in skin smoother and it’s wifi capabilities.. It doesn’t matter where you are you can wifi the photos directly to your phone. You can also use the app on your phone to work as a remote which is how I take my selfie-stick group photos. I bought the body and lens seperately, I also have a rigid screen protector on the LCD as well as a new lens cap with a string because I lost the cap it came with within weeks. Every time I go to a blogger event every single girl has this camera with them and their lenses are always bare (anxiety!!) because they’ve lost their caps too lol.
I believe Desi said in her video that this camera was $1200 when she bought it, but it currently retails on Amazon for $849. Mine is in almost perfect condition.. any regular wear and tear on it is from being in my purse with my keys, phone, etc. The moment i noticed any light scratches is when I bought the rigid screen protector for it.
Photos i’ve taken with the NEX-6 (just pulled off of Facebook so they might be low-res btw):
Canon Rebel T4i + 50mm 1.8 lens + two extra batteries // $450
I bought this within the last couple years when I started getting into YouTube-ing and blogging more.. the flip around screen was super helpful for filming makeup tutorials (and it’s touch screen!!!) and I used this for blog photos for the longest time because I didn’t feel comfortable using my “work” camera for non-work activities lol. I haven’t even touched this since I was in the Maldives last October so it’s time to let it go! My camera bag must have gotten bumped around during my flight back because the latch that keeps the battery secure is loose.. nothing that a little piece of cardboard slipped in can’t fix. I took it to Samy’s camera last week to see if it was worth fixing and they said no, just continue with the little wedge. Because of this, I am selling this bundle for $450 (The body by itself retails for $669.99 on Amazon). I can’t find the 18-55mm kit lens it came with for some reason but it has to be around here somewhere.. If i find it by tomorrow the whole bundle will be priced at $500: T4i Body, 50mm 1.8 lens, 18-55mm kit lens, and in addition to the original battery – two extra batteries I purchased myself (by Wasabi Power, not OEM).
This is a great starter SLR if you’re looking to get into photography. I currently shoot with the 5D mk2 but when I first got into photography in 2008, I was shooting with the Rebel XSI which is very comparable to the t4i. I was able to do great work and I was booking paid shoots. A little unrelated to this for-sale post but to give you budding photographers some inspiration.. here is some of my very first “work” (2008-2009) with my Rebel XSI:
This just goes to show that you don’t need to shell out thousands to explore and do decent work! ANYWAYS..
Photos taken with my T4i… they’re all shot with the 50mm 1.8 lens except for the two photos of Waseem and myself from Abu Dhabi, we used the Canon 17-40mm 4L which is also for sale below (Again, these photos are pulled from Facebook so they might be low-res):
Canon 70-200mm 2.8L Zoom Lens // $950
haha how different do I look though?? This lens holds so much sentimental value for me 🙂 the photo to the left is right after it arrived in the mail during my shoot with Rima Fakih, Miss USA 2010. I was 22, this was my first luxury lens (& first large purchase in general), and it was my shoot with Rima that started my YouTube channel! I bought it used so the scuffs you see in my photo above were already there when I got it. These L lenses are built like tanks.. it was obvious that the previous owner put this thing to WORK as did I! I used it constantly for about 2.5 years. Since 2012 I’ve barely used it because my lens collection got larger.. finally letting it go! It comes with the collar, which is what you see under my left hand..it’s used to mount to your tripod since the lens itself is heavier than the camera. I need to dig around my apartment for the hood – if I can find it, it’s included at no additional charge. This currently retails on Amazon for $1349.
Sigh, very sad to let this one go but it just doesn’t make sense to keep it. :-/
Literally all of my photography work between January 2010 and mid 2012 was shot with this lens. Yes, I’m going to give the disclaimer that they’re super low-res facebook images every time lmao. I’m obviously very sensitive about the quality & standard my work is viewed as BUT aint nobody got the time to pull stuff off of ancient hard drives lol:
Canon 17-40mm F/4L Ultra Wide Angle Zoom Lens // $600
Another L lens for sale! Any time you see that red ring on a Canon lens that mean’s it’s an L (luxury) lens. I’m not quite sure why I purchased this when I do the kind of work that I do.. this is a wide angle lens so at 17mm it’ll really give you that fish eye effect. Great for capturing a grand scenery while traveling, really great for home / real estate photos.. I always side-eye realtor photos because I can always tell that they used a wide angle lens to make the room look bigger.. or to give them the benefit of the doubt, they used it to capture the whole room in one photo haha. I used this quite a bit to film some of my YouTube videos but all in all, it’s meant for someone else because it doesn’t suit what I do – I never did this guy justice! It currently retails on Amazon for $799.
Canon 50mm 1.8 II // $60 — SOLD!
Ah, the Nifty Fifty! This is absolutely the best starter lens if you’re new to photography & SLRs! It’s super cheap but takes wonderful photos with beautiful bokeh (blurred background). When I first began shooting with my XSI, all I read everywhere was to ditch the kit lens and work with this. I swear an entry level SLR like one from the Rebel series + a 50mm 1.8 is the best way to begin, learn, and get comfortable shooting. I used this lens all the way up until I bought that 70-200 you saw a few items back. I also took almost all of my blog photos with this as well. I have no idea where the lens cap is and it’s a bit dusty so it’s priced to sell for $60. It currently retails for $110 on Amazon.
Photography work & blog stuffs I’ve shot with this lens:
Alrighty, that’s it!!! If i left out any important information or if you have any questions please just leave me a comment below. I hope all this gear treats their new owners as well as they’ve treated me! welp!
PS look how pretty my girls look, they ambushed my product shoot 🙂
