Japan Lookbook | Travelgram

Happy New Year loves!

My little family & I just got back from spending Christmas & New Years in Japan!  This was one of our favorite trips & destinations to date and I can’t wait to share my travel diary soon. In the meantime I wanted to post my lookbook here on the blog – you’ve seen these on Instagram already but everything looks better when bigger on the blog! :)

I’ve always had trouble dressing my body-type so I’m definitely no fashionista but I loved how these looks came together! Japan has such cool style so I was really able to experiment and take a few risks. I knew it would be cold around the holidays so I ordered a BUNCH of sweaters and planned my outfits around them. To be more specific, I ordered a bunch of pink sweaters lol. While I was packing I was convinced that it’d look like the same outfit over and over but I think it all came together nicely as one cohesive lookbook!

Which look is your fav?!

Looking forward to your traveling diary! Going to Japan with my 4 month old at the end of this month so yay for perfect timing!!! Looking forward to reading about all the activities you’ve done and how Baby friendly they are!

A question i have is: I noticed Iya always bundled up, how was the weather? And what did she wear under the fuzzy coat?

What did you end up doing about the food? I remember you struggling in the grocery store but there was no follow up :/

How long did it take iya to adjust to the jet lag?

So many questions lol wish I could ask everything I have in mind lol!

    Thanks in advance!!

ahhhh SO EXCITED FOR YOU! We loved Japan so much and I think you will have an easier time with a 4 month old. I’ve traveled with Iya quite a bit since she was 3 months old and she was definitely a lot easier to manage when she was smaller because it was easy to get her to sleep whenever where ever haha.

DEFINITELY have a baby carrier and light weight stroller (I have the babyzen yoyo and highly recommend it!), you will be walking SO much. We definitely burned more calories than we ate haha. It was colder than I expected in Japan so she was always bundled up, under her bearsuits she usually had footie pajamas. If she was wearing an actual outfit I just made sure she had socks on under there too. I’m a little clueless about babies & cold weather though but I think you’ll need something heavier than the bear suit if you dont have a footmuff on your stroller. The footmuff was a lifesaver and she slept well in it too while we were out.

Iya is young enough that she doesnt *need* solids so she was exclusively breastfed during the trip — at breakfast I’d let her have a few spoons of juice or apple sauce to help her go #2. I got mum mums for her before the trip, she loved them and they kept her busy but they got her backed up so i threw them out during our trip. Your baby is even younger so I don’t think food should be a factor??

She’d be so tired from the day we had no issues with sleep IN Japan, she’s definitely jetlagged now after coming back home but its not terrible. She goes to sleep for the night & starts her day a couple hours later than usual, nothing too drastic.

Let me know if you have any more questions! xoxo

Thanks so much for the helpful insight! This is our first time traveling with baby girl so I’m a little nervous lol I told hubby book fast before I have time to overthink and change my mind haha!

Last set of questions: is there anything you traveled with that you found yourself not using, and on the flip side is there something you wish you brought?

Also is your daughter still in the newborn car seat attachment? Mine is so I’m not sure how the footmuff would work out in our case.
