I’ve always had “chicken skin” on the backs of my arms for as long as I can remember, and being a brown-skinned woman I felt like the bumps were very noticeable at times. I hated them but keratosis pilaris isn’t anything abnormal or uncommon so I didn’t really dwell on them.
I’ve always had dry skin though AND I’m an obsessive skin-picker.. more recently (over the past year or so) I’ve started picking at my arms all day and night. I stopped wearing short sleeves all together to keep myself from picking and the scabs/scars started making me feel really self conscious!
I ordered First Aid Beauty’s KP Bump Eraser & REN’s AHA Body Serum a couple months ago to tackle the root of my picking problem… the KP bumps! I haven’t been consistent with the scrub because I often forget to take it into the shower with me but the REN Body Serum is amazing! I applied it to my arms the first time before bed and woke up with almost perfectly smooth arms! I’m not joking that it made a massive difference in literally my first use!
Daytime/post-shower, I use a body cream by First Aid beauty on my arms (everything’s linked below!)
The spots & scars are still there of course but I hope with regular use of everything they’ll begin to fade (don’t forget sunscreen too!). Texture-wise, I’ve already reached my goal and I hope they work just as well for you!
I’ve listed all the products by retailer since we’re all shopping online and/or doing curbside pickup!
