Adding a Humidifier to Your Beauty Routine

Nosebleeds, eczema, itchy, scaly skin.. the reasons why I’ve always kept a humidifier in my bedroom since childhood are endless; but I could never tell if the air in my bedroom actually felt different than the rest of the house. Sometimes I felt like I had to have it blasting directly on my face in order to feel the hydrating comfort on my skin, eyes, and nose – but who wants to wake up clammy and damp?! I recently set up my new Dyson Humidifier on my nightstand and not only does it not leave a 2 foot radius of damp everything, its Multiplier technology keeps the mist evenly distributed throughout the room. The air in my room finally feels different than the rest of the house and I’m loving this humidifier as an addition to my beauty routine. Yes, beauty routine! I’ve recently gotten much more into skincare, I always say that I wish I began sooner in my 20s but.. better late than never! My skin right now is the best its looked post-puberty so I’ll happily choose this 29 year old face over my 22 year old previous face haha. Your skin rejuvenates and repairs itself while you sleep and a young looking face is a well hydrated face. So while my skin is soaking up all the oils and creams I slather on before bed, the water I gulp down before I shut the lights off, I now know that my skin is also drinking up the water in the air thanks to my Dyson humidifier. As I mentioned earlier, the moisture is distributed evenly throughout the room and with its Intelligent Climate Control it measures both the temperature and moisture in the air to create a comfortable environment, never over-humidified. Although this appliance was a winter addition to my home, it has dual functionality for year round use – delivering hygienic and even humidification in the winter and cooling air for the summer.

I’m at that stage in my life where we are beginning to plan for a family, and although I am not expecting, I am forever making mental-mommy notes. Aside from all of the beauty and comfort benefits of having a Dyson Humidifier in the room, its a very healthy addition as well. This humidifier uses Ultraviolet Cleanse Technology to kill 99.9% of bacteria in the water releasing hygienic mist and hydrated air into the room. Every single drop of water is exposed to a UVC light upon turning on the machine – it takes about three minutes before it begins to humidify. The amount of bacteria and yuckies that can grow in sitting water is a scary thing that becomes more alarming when babies are in the picture. This humidifier and its hygienic mist is definitely going to be staying with us as our family begins to grow – so although it is a pricy piece, its longevity and health benefits are worth the price tag IMO.

It retails for $499 but I found it on sale on Amazon for $479 HERE!

Designing my Thanksgiving Table

Everything about the final quarter of the year gives me all kinds of happy feelings. The weather change, foliage, and of course the holidays. Now that October and Halloween are out of the way, the happiest time of the year is approaching and first up is Thanksgiving! Waseem and I love to entertain and host our families but this year, for the first time, we’ll be a twosome on Thanksgiving day. I’m not too bummed about it because we’ll be with family the rest of the weekend and I’m actually excited for us to have an intimate little Thanksgiving for two! I always pull out my wedding china when entertaining for a forever elegant and safe look but this year I’m ready for some color! I pulled a few things from my cabinets and grabbed a couple bouquets of roses to brainstorm ideas for my table. I recently picked out a few dinnerware pieces from Good Earth and I’m obsessed! I can’t wait to continue adding to my collection & my new china cabinet (man, it’s so hard to hide my age)!

Good Earth is an Indian luxury brand and their vision is extraordinary. Inspired by nature and enchanted by history, Good Earth celebrates the rich history and mysticism of India and brings an elegant east-meets-west look to my table. Every year they launch a new design collection inspired by SouthAsia’s colorful heritage. The pieces I choose are from Sarai, the final design story of their Farah Baksh 2012-2013 Collection, celebrating the breathtaking beauty of Kashmir. The Sarai collection tells the story of Mughal Emperor Jehangir and his wife Nur Jahan who were so enamored by Kashmir that they would travel over the snowy Pir Panjal mountain range on Elephants to spend their summer there. Farah Baksh is the garden the emperor built for his wife and was his dream project. 1. What didn’t that man do for his wife?! 2. I think I need to visit India again.. properly this time! I mean, look how much I rambled lol. #PermanentWanderlust

My dinnerware pieces are hand decorated fine bone china with 24 carat gold detailing, so gorgeous and luxe! I still need to pick up some placemats but first I wanted to decide on my flowers. I swear I stood at the flowershop for 30 minutes trying to figure out how to match my china but still have some orange in there – I mean it’s Thanksgiving, hello! My final bouquet ended up being pretty springy and reminded me of the Ivy in Beverly Hills. Oh well, flowers are meant to be cheery! What should I do about my mats/runner?! Leave me some ideas in the comments section! xo
