Happy Monday! Weeee I’m super excited about today’s makeup tutorial because it’s probably my favorite makeup I’ve done on myself yet. I don’t know if it’s because I really took the time to show you contouring, highlighting, and baking, but it finished so flawlessly! I hope you all love it too! I wanted to do a tutorial on Instagram makeup. To me, this is the look that’s trending all over the insta-sphere, and it’s also a look that a lot of people hate.. its pretty polarizing. Glam girls love it but a lot of MUAs in the industry hate it for how bold and harsh it can be. Different strokes for different folks! A girl like me loves me some cake, so be prepared to watch me layer it on!! :)
Tarte’s new Tarteist Lip Paints are described as ultra-pigmented, matte liquid lipsticks. They are super pigmented but I don’t think I would quite describe them as a liquid lipstick – which is not a bad thing! They’ve very comfortable on the lips and not drying at all. They feel more like a lip cream and dry to a more velvety, soft finish. I would compare them more to NYX Lip Creams than Anastasia or Colourpop liquid lipsticks. I swatched the first 10 shades that were released late last year for you today; there are a fewer new colors since then which I don’t have yet including a VIB Rouge exclusive, Fomo (which I totally have FOMO over!!). I loved all but two of the colors & being a girl that doesn’t experiment with lip color very much… that is a big surprise! Yay! Paired with the lip paints are the new Tarteist Lip Crayons – these are unbelievely pigmented, you won’t need more than a swipe. My one gripe is that they are a little drying and pull on the skin a bit. Latergram is my new favorite neutral liner especially for my skintone and I broke the tip off my crayon already because of how hard I was tugging – waah! It just had to be my favorite color that broke. Make sure you don’t twist up too far before applying or you might snap yours too!
I am giving away a brand new tube of Yaassss so be sure to enter the giveaway at the end of this post. Enjoy & good luck!!

I’m jetting off to London & Paris tomorrow, I am so excited. I haven’t been since 2012 when we got engaged :) Make sure you’re keeping up with me on Instagram & Snapchat to get a peek into my travels! I’m going to be prefilming/editing two New Years Eve tutorials today to post while I’m away so be sure to let me know what kind of looks you’re hoping to see – I’m still brainstorming what to film!
I am so thankful and excited about this video I created with Ulta Beauty! It’s such an honor to be working with them as not only are they a household name but such a powerhouse retailer! Practically any beauty product you might need you will be able to find at Ulta; so it goes without explaining that every product used in this tutorial can be found there and I have everything listed below for your holiday shopping needs. I love the holidays because everything is a little bit more glittery and gilded.. That’s me all year round but at least during this time of the year nobody looks at me like I’m weird or gaudy ;) This look is great to wear for Thanksgiving tomorrow or really anytime the next couple months! In my case & I’m sure many of you as well.. all year round! What do you think? Is glitter reserved just for this season or nah?
Gosh, when is the appropriate time to start sharing Holiday Collections?! I had Tarte’s #Holidaze collection sitting around for about a month but then even more showed up at my doorstep a couple days ago. This collection is getting larger and larger so I think I’ll share a piece or two at a time! First up is Tarte’s Bling it on Blush Palette. Five blushes (0.15 oz each) for $44 is a great bang for your buck since their individuals which are a little larger at 0.20 oz retail for $26 each. These are super long wearing and the colors are beautiful. I especially love Dollface, a light cool-toned pink; sometimes it’s hard for me to find a “barbie” pink that actually keeps it’s light color on my medium-toned skin without being ashy or too transparent. Love it! Luckily, Dollface is a permanent color in Tarte’s collection, I believe the other four are limited edition: Fetching, Prim, Smashing, & Beaming. They are all mattes except beaming which has some cool-toned sparkle in there!
I’ve included an honorable mention, Tarte’s bestselling Picture Perfect Eyelash Curler in gorgeous limited edition Holidaze packaging! All this beautiful makeup and that’s what I keep looking at and obsessing over lol! This lash curler was the first I ever owned back in 2010, and I love it even more all glammed out! This limited edition duo comes with a deluxe sample size of Lights, Camera, Flashes Statement Mascara.
As much as I love going full glam, again and again I find myself without enough time to go the full nine yards. Today I’ll be sharing with you a few key steps that make achieving my signature beauty look as easy as pie! I rave constantly about my favorite makeup products, faithful staples as well as new discoveries; its obvious that selecting the right makeup products is crucial in creating a flawless face but one thing we tend to overlook is our brushes which is equally as important. With the right brushes, your makeup will work harder and reach their full potential.
I’ve recently discovered SEPHORA COLLECTION PRO Brushes and they’ve found their forever home in my kit. Developed with the Sephora Pro team for over a year and handshaped by trained artisans, they are the most luxurious brushes I’ve ever used. My makeup has never looked better and I secretly feel so fabulous with the brushes in hand, they are so gorgeous just to look at. The handles are elongated and are the most rich high gloss shade of black. They are also the only makeup brushes to feature all chrome ferrules! They will never yellow or look dull, the brush number is etched on so it will never rub off and the brushes will always look brand new!
Where has this concealer been all my life!? I’m a huge huge fan of Tarte’s Maracuja products, the oil and Maracuja Miracle Foundation being my absolute favesies! Being a girl with extremely dry skin (& a history of eczema), I crave moisture; so it is no surprise at all that Tarte’s Maracuja Creaseless Concealer worked out very well for me. It’s moisturizing, full-coverage, thick but very easy to blend out and smooth creating a flawless but natural finish. I would say that this is the perfect under-eye concealer but I dont know if I would personally use it anywhere else on my face or over blemishes because of it’s rich and softening texture. I’m all about under-eyes so having a dedicated product just for them is not even close to being a negative attribute for me! This concealer definitely decreases the appearance of fine lines under my eyes (it’s all about that moisture!) and does not crease, flake, or crack throughout the day. Obsessed.
Hello my loves!! An early Eid Mubarak to everyone celebrating this week! As usual I put together some glam inspo for the holiday and I hope you guys love it! My makeup is usually pretty neutral so I wanted a pop of color and sparkle on my lids – The rest of my face of course is safe-ol-Irene :) I took another swing at baking for this tutorial and I’m loving how it turned out!! Finding the right translucent powder and figuring out the right amount of bake-time for your skintype is so crucial. I used Tarte’s Smooth Operator Finishing Powder and so far I like it much better than the previous powders I’ve tried to bake with: LA Girl, Dermablend, Ben Nye.. but I won’t chat about it now because Tarte’s Smooth Operator + Maracuja Creaseless Concealer is my next product review! I’ll have it up tonight but in the meantime.. enjoy the tutorial! mwah!
So sorry for being so MIA this past week, I was sick in bed allllll week but it’s Monday now and I’m back on my feet! I have an exciting deal to share with you today! Tarte’s Beauty in the Basics 6 pc color collection is available today only on QVC for $47.96 (Regularly $58). I absolutely love Tarte’s products but especially their eyeshadows; they’re so creamy and the color payoff is fantastic.
