Happy Friday!
I am SO proud of myself today lol!!! I always miss the train on amazing highlighters and you know I’m all about that glow life. I missed MAC’s Whisper of Gilt, I missed Estee Lauder’s Heat Wave, I’ve bought dupes, etc and just never found exactly what I was looking for. I have been meaning to buy Opal by Becca Cosmetics for what feels like forever now, but ironically enough I don’t shop for makeup that often and I just got lazy with picking it up. The makeup bug hit me yesterday and I set out to do some shopping. Becca teamed up with Jaclyn Hill on a new limited edition Shimmering Skin Perfector for Summer 2015 called Champagne Pop and I thought it was releasing yesterday so my mission was to pick up both Opal and Champagne Pop at the same time. I stalked every Sephora within a 30 minute radius from me and either they were a smaller store that doesn’t carry Becca or they said that they were putting Champagne Pop on the shelves the next day. I picked up Opal anyways (& a million other things.. oops) and la-la-laaahved it on my skin! It’s so soft, so creamy, and really gives that intense highlight I’m always looking for. My only complaint is that it’s pretty cool toned.. the next shade up I believe was Rose Gold and it was a little too dark for a highlight in my taste. I tried layering a gold on top of Opal to warm it up but it didn’t make much of a difference.. I still love it though and will not be returning it *hugs packaging*. Also I think the fact that it’s cool toned makes it a versatile product, wearable with many different looks. Anywho, I woke up early, got a notification from Sephora.com that Champagne Pop is now available so I started calling my local stores again to see if they’d hold one for me… no one has it!!!! So I ended up buying it online (along with some other things.. oops x2) and I can’t wait to get it in the mail! If the formula is like Opal I will be so so happy! Once my package arrives I’ll film a haul video of all the goodies I picked up yesterday and today 🙂
Speaking of filming.. I’m so sorry I’ve been so MIA! First I was out of town, once I got back I thought I’d totally be back in my routine but to be honest.. Ramadan is kicking my butt this year. Putting on a full face of makeup feels too difficult lol but I promise I am filming something new immediately after posting this! 🙂 I’ve included links for everything I picked up, happy shopping!

OMG I’m so glad you’re going to get this! A while ago, I was on the medication Accutane for my crazy acne and it made my pinks super dry and ORANGE! I bought Mac Stripdown off your recommendation and my face finally looked normal! I have also bought Ruby Woo because it looked so beautiful on you! I seriously hope you include Champagne Pop in your tutorials because I heard its too light for our skintones but I’ve seen pictures of girls and it looks really awesome! I’m sure you’ll slay that highlight! IRENE IS QUEEN!
yeah im like nc 25ish but im brown so i have tht olive/brown undertone n i really DONT like it on me personally. I LOVVEE opal i mean nothing absolutely nothing comes close to tht HG status…i am not very sure why irene thinks opal is cool toned to me its more on neutral to warm perfect for brown skin tones n i also have rose gold which i use more as a blush topper/highlight rather than strictly highlight (i use opal for this)…so i would pass on C.pop…even moonstone looks sooo much better on me than this but i have the balm mary lou so i never got moonstone only tried it (kinda similar effect)
Well NC25 and NC42-44 (my shade) are completely different so that is why Opal is cool toned on me and not on you. I swatched Moonstone the other day at Sephora and it was practically white so that should answer your question lol! I’ve been wanting to try The Balm!
Please do a tutorial with this!!!! We’re the same complexion so I want to see it on you before I buy it!
