Four Seasons Hotel Buenos Aires

Good afternoon from LA!

My husband and I got home from South America yesterday and spent the day on the couch with our cats watching netflix and just recuperating from our busy two weeks away! I’m back to work today and ready to share with you some of our travels! As you may have noticed from my previous two posts – I will be breaking this trip down over several posts instead of one large travel diary. There is just too much to share!

We began our trip in Puerto Iguazú & then made our way to Buenos Aires where we spent 3 lovely days at the Four Seasons Hotel. This was my first Four Seasons experience and it was nothing short of luxurious! Located in the cultural center of the city in the affluent Recoleta neighborhood; the area was super safe and very close to historical landmarks, great restaurants, and shopping. All of Buenos Aires feels like different parts of Europe but Recoleta is all Paris!!!

I fell in love with everything about the hotel upon arriving. The hospitality and service were absolutely amazing, every recommendation the concierge made for our nights out were a slam dunk! An equestrian theme runs throughout the Four Seasons Buenos Aires beginning with a gorgeous sculpture on the front lawn which is even more beautiful at night. Splashes of blue are found throughout the lobby representing the sky of Buenos Aires as well as the Argentine flag – the lobby was my favorite place in the building because I loved the color palette so much. We stayed in a mansion-view junior suite where we had stunning views of the city as well as the largest avenue in the world: 9 de Julio. Our suite was super spacious with separate living and sleeping areas each with large balcony-like windows – directly above the hotel’s heated Roman-style pools. I’m so bummed we didn’t have enough time during our short stay for a dip, I couldn’t afford to get my hair wet lol! Our room came ready with a Nespresso machine and fabulous L’Occitane toiletries and was serviced twice a day, housekeeping in the morning and a turn-down service in the evening.

The Four Seasons Buenos Aires is also home to one of Latin America’s top 50 restaurants of 2014, Elena, where we got an amazing taste of what Argentina is famous for.. their beef! We’ll chat all about the restaurant and the hotel’s polo-themed bar, Pony Line, at the end of this post. Saving the food, aka the best, for last!

Elena is a gorgeous two-story courtyard restaurant located on the first floor of the hotel. It charted on the Top 50 Restaurants of Latin America last year so we made sure we showed up for dinner with an appetite! The space was dimly let but the atmosphere was still lively & sexy. A few fun facts about Argentina – the country is one of the greatest food-producing and food-exporting countries of the world. I vaguely remembered learning about Argentine Agriculture in Spanish class but I didn’t realize how famous they were for it until my visit. Not only are they amazing at production, they’re quite impressive with consumption too! Argentina boasts the highest beef consumption in the world so in true Argentine fashion, we had steak every day we were in Buenos Aires. We weren’t too crazy about the steak we had the night before we dined at Elena so we were a little discouraged when we arrived but our waitress helped us through the menu and everything we ordered was unbelievable. I think Waseem got the Rib Eye – it was dry aged for 45 days and tasted like no steak I’ve had before.. I literally cannot describe it lol! I went with the Baby Goat served over creamed corn.. ugh I’m hungry just thinking about it!

No different than dinner, breakfast at Elena was also exquisite! The best part? Buffet!!!

I was busy finishing up a little bit of work on my laptop during breakfast so my husband made me a beautiful plate! He knows just how to brighten my day 🙂

Quite possibly the fastest room service I’ve ever experienced (maybe I ordered at a very not-busy time)! We came back from a night out and ordered a pizza and a pot of coffee which arrived in less than 20 minutes. Argentina is heavily influenced by Italy so trust me when I say that they know their pizza and pasta! Delicious.

Continuing with the Polo-style of the property & inspired by the sport of kings, Pony Line is a chic and trendy bar located in the lobby of the Four Seasons. We popped in for a bit to bop to some music and people watch. The place was packed and had a great cosmopolitan atmosphere. Check Waseem stuntin’ out front lol!!
