Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer & Smooth Operator Finishing Powder | #BakingWithTarte

Tarte-Wake-and-Bake-bakingwithtarteWhere has this concealer been all my life!? I’m a huge huge fan of Tarte’s Maracuja products, the oil and Maracuja Miracle Foundation being my absolute favesies! Being a girl with extremely dry skin (& a history of eczema), I crave moisture; so it is no surprise at all that Tarte’s Maracuja Creaseless Concealer worked out very well for me. It’s moisturizing, full-coverage, thick but very easy to blend out and smooth creating a flawless but natural finish. I would say that this is the perfect under-eye concealer but I dont know if I would personally use it anywhere else on my face or over blemishes because of it’s rich and softening texture. I’m all about under-eyes so having a dedicated product just for them is not even close to being a negative attribute for me! This concealer definitely decreases the appearance of fine lines under my eyes (it’s all about that moisture!) and does not crease, flake, or crack throughout the day. Obsessed. No complaints really, the package is a little annoying because the product is thick and difficult to squeeze out of the tube but that’s really not a big deal.

Tarte’s press packages are always freakishly creative with cute play-on-words, props, and extras. I received these concealers in a #BakingWithTarte bundle which included their Smooth Operator Finishing Powder and a box of brownie mix. Cute or what?

Baking has always been a huge hit or miss for me all depending on what products I’m using and how my skin is behaving, it’s very easy for my skin to end up looking cakey… #dryskinprobz. Serious cringe when I think back to a couple years ago when I would bake with Ben Nye banana powder on Kevyn Aucoin sse. Vom vom vom! Since then I’ve tried a couple other powders and while my makeup would be more photogenic, I felt like I looked really cakey/powdery in person and it felt really dry and mask-like. I caught Marianna Hewitt baking on snapchat earlier this summer with Tarte’s Translucent Powder and she looked stunningly flawless so when these powders showed up at my door I was so excited to experiment. My first attempt was successful!!! My makeup looked flawless in person and especially in photos and it was comfortable on my skin. I’m trying not to get ahead of myself though.. I definitely need to repeat a few more times to make sure that this really is the product that works for me and not just one lucky night where the skin/product stars aligned. Ha! It has a very soft and smooth texture, practically invisible transluscent finish with hardly any camera flashback, and it really does create a beautiful soft focus. My only gripe is that it is so messy and annoying to work with but that’s expected with any micro-powder. It gets all in the air and in your breathing space lol, falls everywhere when applying, I had to brush it off early because i kept breathing it in my nose by accident. I probably just need some practice.
