I’m so excited to finally share Iya’s finished room with you! I worked with Naomi from Little Crown Interiors to bring this space to life & I am so thrilled with the result. It is by far my favorite room in the house 🙂
One thing I knew I wanted was wallpaper! What could be seen as a dated design element really made a comeback in recent years – and I am so here for it!! When we started our design process I already had my furniture picked out from Newport Cottages so that’s where we started and planned around. I still haven’t quite figured out what my true aesthetic is.. I love soft traditional home decor but also really love clean, angular, contemporary feels (my husband gravitates towards the latter). I think Naomi did a great job of marrying the two — we have our floral accent wall, puddled velvet drapes, and soft pink color palette but also have the art deco high gloss furniture, acrylic drawer pulls, and trendy brass hardware. I love it all so much – the only thing I’m having FOMO over is not having a big sparkly chandelier!! I couldn’t get attic access so I chose FOMO over ripping the ceiling open lol le sigh.
Unless Iya ends up despising all things girly, I truly believe that this is a room that can grow and stay with her. Even though its fit for my little baby princess, its chic enough to stay when we eventually transition to a big girl bed (wahh!) without looking immature.
Thank you Naomi & all of our brand partners for helping me create such a beautiful & cozy space for my girl; she loves curling up on her glider to read, I just know she’ll grow to really appreciate it all.
