Dress: Asos | Shoes: Stuart Weitzman | Sunglasses: Rayban | Iya’s Onesie: H&M Happy Sunday! Just wanted to share some outfit deets before heading out for a little Sunday funday with the family! I spent the earlier part of the weekend at Disneyland with Sunglass Hut celebrating the launch of…
OK this is my favorite dress ever and I’m sad that its a trendy piece and not something that can work as a staple classic lol I want to wear it ALL THE TIME! The whimsical mesh layering is giving me all the J’Dior vibes and its just so girly! The frills, layers, stars, I’m completely smitten. Will y’all judge me if i wear it over and over on the gram? lol!
Keeping things girly, I dressed up my mesh with pops of pink! My new Gucci Marmont Mini (thanks Hubs!), comfy Rockstuds, & Iya’s chic new blanket. Can you tell I’m obsessed with pom poms & pink like a true girl-mom? My dress was already low-stock on Asos & ended up completely selling out soon after I shared on Instagram yesterday :/ but they do carry a mini version that is in stock and regular sizing (the maxi is a petite exclusive)!
I have an Asos addiction lately because I’m totally loving on their petite section. I’ve always had trouble dressing my body and one of the biggest reasons is my shrimp status. Finally hemlines that are extremely flattering on my 5’3″ self!
Happy New Year loves! My little family & I just got back from spending Christmas & New Years in Japan! This was one of our favorite trips & destinations to date and I can’t wait to share my travel diary soon. In the meantime I wanted to post my lookbook…
For the majority of my pregnancy I was able to wear my regular comfy clothes. It wasn’t until near the end that I thought whoa! I need to go shopping! Nothing fit anymore, I was forever uncomfortable, and I just wasn’t feeling cute at all! Maintaining your everyday style and aesthetic while pregnant isn’t always the easiest task and it can feel downright discouraging at times. I caught wind of Lauren Conrad’s LC Lauren Conrad Maternity Collection earlier this month at Kohl’s and was super happy to see her stylish designs that didn’t scream I’m pregnant and huge! I placed my order on Kohls.com along with some a:glow maternity basics and was excited to have a proper maternity wardrobe going for the homestretch of my pregnancy.
My baby, however, had other plans and decided to arrive before my Kohl’s package even did!! Luckily my order did not go in vain. One thing a lot of women don’t talk about is what your body looks like after delivery. You’d think that weight gain aside, your insides would just pop back into place but that really isn’t the case. Celebrities and magazines can have us thinking we’re doing something wrong but let’s think about it. It took 9 months for our bodies to get to where they are, it only makes sense that it takes a little time to snap back too. With the right wardrobe and positive mindset, we can look and feel great during our journey back. 🙂
My tip? Hold on to those maternity clothes! The M-word might make you feel some type of way since you’re not pregnant anymore, but I say to heck with labels! Why be miserable and squeeze yourself into your old jeans before you’re ready for no reason at all (sleep deprived on top of it!) when you could wear comfortable pieces that are also figure flattering.
You look good when you feel good!
Other than having my baby girl in my arms finally, another incredible perk of her early arrival was that my husband unexpectedly got to celebrate his first Father’s Day this year! I wore my new LC Lauren Conrad Chambray Off-the-Shoulder Dress to celebrate the hubs’ new daddy status and I honestly felt… so pretty! I didn’t think I could feel that way within my first week postpartum but all it took was the right dress!
It’s always been on my bucketlist to purchase a Chanel in Paris so during our little weekend trip last week I asked my husband to choose a boutique while I finished getting dressed. A little googling led him to decide for us to visit the location at 31 rue Cambon, which happens to be the original Chanel boutique.. the flagship, the mothership! Coco Chanel even once lived in the apartment upstairs. We popped in less than an hour before closing and it was still pretty busy in there, lots of tourists buzzing around making their Chanel purchases. We waited in line for a few minutes before a kind woman grabbed us to help. I can’t say it enough that everyone working at this boutique was so friendly! Something I usually don’t experience at designer boutiques in the US and I seriously thought that attitude would be on ten in Paris. Thinking back though.. I made my first Louboutin purchase in Paris years ago and they were also much nicer than any Louboutin boutique I’ve been to at home (agh especially Chicago!). Maybe I just have great luck in Paris!
I came in with a good idea of what I was looking for, so it was a very quick process for her to pull options for me. I was looking for a wallet-on-chain in caviar leather or patent leather – in a neutral color. I narrowed it down to classic black with gold hardware and a nude le boy with what looked like champagne hardware.. it wasn’t quite gold or silver. Waseem wanted me to go with the boy but it’s so hard for me to stray from a black & gold combo, and I just love classic designs. It took me a couple years to even appreciate the newer le boy style & I even own one in a loud electric blue patent leather but… classics will always have my heart! My lambskin double flap gives me so much grief because I hate how soft the leather is so I was long overdue on something black & in caviar leather anyways.
All the other shoppers were sipping on champagne as they made their purchases but me being the child that I am enjoyed a cold can of pop while I checked out lol! From start to finish it was such a lovely experience shopping at Chanel Cambon and what is extra unique about this location is that they have exclusive packaging. Every boutique in the world uses black boxes/bags but the flagship location perfectly wraps everything in white! If you ever buy a pre-loved Chanel and it comes in its original white box, you’ll know it came from the iconic Cambon location. Very cool!
Don’t forget your passport so you can get a VAT refund when you leave Europe! I forgot mine but luckily I always have a scan of it handy on my phone and they were nice enough to accept that! Even without the tax refund, my WOC was cheaper in Paris than in the US; but with the tax refund it really was a great deal (about $1600 vs $2100+tax)! I kind of wish I splurged on something bigger.. ah well, next time! 🙂
