Simple Strobe + Berry Lip Tutorial

Maybe simple isn’t quite the right word.. you’ll see when you watch how many products I used lol.. But for me, the final look with the strobed face and a splash of color on my lips is simple-ish! It just takes me 50 million products to get that strobe ha!

Deepika Padukone Diwali Makeup

Hello my loves!!! I hope you’re all having an amazing weekend. I wanted to wish those of you celebrating, a very happy Diwali! I really enjoyed seeing everyone getting festive, dolled up, and celebrating via social media and I saw a photo of Deepika Padukone heading out to the Bachans’ Diwali party looking like absolute perfection (as always!). I don’t keep up with Bollywood movies but I definitely girlcrush over many of the actresses and the one that my eyes keep going back to is Deepika *heart eyes*. To be honest, when I looked at this makeup closer it looked so messy to me but she wore it flawlessly… me on the other hand can’t wear effortlessly messy looks – I just look like a slob haha so I did my best recreating her forest green smokey eye but polished it up a tad! What do you guys think?

El Conquistador, a Waldorf Astoria Resort | Puerto Rico

In the quiet town of Fajardo, you’ll find one of Puerto Rico’s nicest and most well known resorts, El Conquistador, a Waldorf Astoria Resort. This resort sits on top of a 300 foot cliff overlooking both the Atlantic Ocean & Caribbean Sea. The views are truly picturesque and we were lucky to be able to take it all in from our cliff-top room. The grounds are huge so we really appreciated the hospitality upon checking in – we would have been completely lost trying to find our room and getting our luggage there would be even more difficult.

The resort is beyond self sufficient. If you’re the resort-y type that loves to relax at a fab hotel, by the pool, or on the beach you literally won’t have to leave. El Conquistador offers personal concierges, pre-arranged babysitting, four freshwater swimming pools, a huge golf course, seven tennis courts (yes, seven!), 32 restaurants, bar, & lounges, a water park, private island….. I can go on & on!

After settling into our room we decided to head down to the waterpark, Coquí, where we enjoyed slides, a lazy river, and an infinity pool. It was so fun to be a kid again with my BFF! We took a cable car down the cliff to then walk over to the waterpark which gave us even more stunning views and a nice walk past the marina. The marina offers deep-sea fishing charters, sailboats, catamarans, & yachts BTW! Now about El Conquistador’s private island… Palomino Island: you can enjoy horseback riding, scuba diving, and so much more. I swear I felt like I needed a week just to explore the property! A water taxi leaves to and from Palomino Island from the resort every 30 minutes so its very easy to go back and forth and I’m sure the water taxi ride itself is a fun adventure! I had my heart totally set on horseback riding but unfortunately we didn’t get to check out Palomino Island due to time constraints :-/ I’ll get into why and everything we explored when I do my full Puerto Rico travel diary! For now, I know you’re dying to see photos so please enjoy & I’ll chat as you scroll

Designing my Thanksgiving Table

Everything about the final quarter of the year gives me all kinds of happy feelings. The weather change, foliage, and of course the holidays. Now that October and Halloween are out of the way, the happiest time of the year is approaching and first up is Thanksgiving! Waseem and I love to entertain and host our families but this year, for the first time, we’ll be a twosome on Thanksgiving day. I’m not too bummed about it because we’ll be with family the rest of the weekend and I’m actually excited for us to have an intimate little Thanksgiving for two! I always pull out my wedding china when entertaining for a forever elegant and safe look but this year I’m ready for some color! I pulled a few things from my cabinets and grabbed a couple bouquets of roses to brainstorm ideas for my table. I recently picked out a few dinnerware pieces from Good Earth and I’m obsessed! I can’t wait to continue adding to my collection & my new china cabinet (man, it’s so hard to hide my age)!

Good Earth is an Indian luxury brand and their vision is extraordinary. Inspired by nature and enchanted by history, Good Earth celebrates the rich history and mysticism of India and brings an elegant east-meets-west look to my table. Every year they launch a new design collection inspired by SouthAsia’s colorful heritage. The pieces I choose are from Sarai, the final design story of their Farah Baksh 2012-2013 Collection, celebrating the breathtaking beauty of Kashmir. The Sarai collection tells the story of Mughal Emperor Jehangir and his wife Nur Jahan who were so enamored by Kashmir that they would travel over the snowy Pir Panjal mountain range on Elephants to spend their summer there. Farah Baksh is the garden the emperor built for his wife and was his dream project. 1. What didn’t that man do for his wife?! 2. I think I need to visit India again.. properly this time! I mean, look how much I rambled lol. #PermanentWanderlust

My dinnerware pieces are hand decorated fine bone china with 24 carat gold detailing, so gorgeous and luxe! I still need to pick up some placemats but first I wanted to decide on my flowers. I swear I stood at the flowershop for 30 minutes trying to figure out how to match my china but still have some orange in there – I mean it’s Thanksgiving, hello! My final bouquet ended up being pretty springy and reminded me of the Ivy in Beverly Hills. Oh well, flowers are meant to be cheery! What should I do about my mats/runner?! Leave me some ideas in the comments section! xo
